Everybody lies, or at least “decorates” the truth in order to be more interesting or to please others. “A social life” is a short film that tells the story of Meredith, a girl who lives the kind of life you’ve always dreamed of. But the problem is that she lives this life only on social media. Her reality is completely different. Meredith has created an entirely bogus image for her friends on social networks.
Kerith Lemon, the producer, was inspired to make this film after working in the entertainment industry for 15 years.
“It is a mirror of (…) what is happening to me emotionally by being connected 24/7,” she said in an interview.
The film was screened on many festivals and won several awards, but Lemon said that she achieved her purpose – to make people think about this dilemma.
